These fish were all caught by me on a fly rod. I have printed them on various types of Rice Paper using a Japanese technique call Gyotaku. If you are interested in purchasing one call 904-563-1516 or Rob@flyyaker. com. |
Gyotaku (Ghi - yo - tah - koo) is Japanese for fish print. This technique in which the actual fish is inked and printed on Rice paper originated about 200 years ago in Japan. Japanese fisherman developed Gyotaku as a way of recording the exact size and shape of the fish they caught. These prints are being made today not only to keep fisherman honest but for there aesthetic appeal. Gyotaku prints hang in homes and businesses around the world as works of art bringing a unique perspective to all who see them. |
